Planning your visit
Planning a trip to Phimeanakas Temple, found in the Angkor Thom area, requires just a small bit of preparation. Early mornings reward travelers with cooler air and softer light, perfect for climbing the pyramid's sandstone steps. While crowds flock to Angkor Wat, Phimeanakas sees mostly those curious enough to stroll a little further, making it a rare pocket of calm even in the busy dry season. Tickets are needed for the Angkor Archaeological Park, and access comes bundled in the main pass, so there’s no extra fee at the temple itself. Expect a bit of uneven ground and simple walkways — comfortable shoes are a must.
